Syro-Malabar Catholic Diocese of Thuckalay

The diocese Thuckalay (Latin: Dioecesis Thuckalayensis ) is a diocese of the united with the Roman Catholic Church Syro - Malabar Church, based in Thuckalay in India. It comprises the district of Kanyakumari and Tirunelveli Taluk of the district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu.

History

Pope John Paul II founded it with the Apostolic Constitution Apud Indorum gentes on 11 November 1996 from annexations of archeparchy Changanacherry, where there was also a suffragan.
