Syro-Malabar Catholic Eparchy of Ujjain

The Diocese of Ujjain (Latin: Dioecesis Uiiainensis ) is a diocese of the united with the Roman Catholic Church Syro - Malabar church in India. It is a suffragan of the Archdiocese of Bhopal.

History

On July 29, 1968, the Apostolic Exarchate of Ujjain was erected from part of a territory of the Diocese of Indore and John Perumattam was their Exarch. When the Exarchate in 1977 raised to the bishopric, Perumattam was bishop. In 1998 he was succeeded by his friar Sebastian Vadakel as a bishop.
