Syro-Malankara Catholic Eparchy of Marthandom

The Eparchy Marthandom (Latin: Eparchia Marthandomensis ) is a location in Tamil Nadu, India Eparchy of the Syro- Malankara Catholic Church based in Marthandom, Kanyakumari (District).

History

Pope John Paul II founded it with the Apostolic Constitution Singulares omnino on 16 December 1996 from annexations of Großerzbistums Trivandrum, where it was assumed as a suffragan.

The diocese covers only the Syro -Malankara Catholics in the area. The there is also resident Catholics of the Latin Rite and the Syro -Malabar rite belong to other dioceses.
