Sausenberg located 17 kilometers south of the county town Kluczbork ( Kreuzburg OS) and 29 kilometers northeast of the Opole voivodship in the historical region of Upper Silesia.

History

In the plebiscite in Upper Silesia on March 20, 1921 138 voters voted to remain in Germany and 36 for Poland, in Gutsbezirk Sausenberg 205 people voted for Germany and Poland for 36 people .. Sausenberg remained with the German Reich. 1925 lived in the village of 556 inhabitants, in 1933 the town had 513 inhabitants and in 1939 there were 1,625 inhabitants. By 1945, the place was in the district of Rosenberg OS.

In 1945 the previously German place under Polish administration and renamed Szumirad and joined the Silesian Voivodeship. From 1945 to 1975, the place was in the powiat Oleski.
