Tachikawa Ki-9
The Tachikawa Ki -9 ( Allied code name " Spruce " ) was a Japanese trainer aircraft in biplane design.
Originally two versions were provided with different engines: one for beginners and one advanced training for training pilots. The first flight took place on January 7, 1935 with a 261 kW Hitachi Ha -13a engine. The third prototype was powered by a 112 kW only Nakajima NZ engine. However, he pointed to stability problems as a result of which the development of a version for the beginners training was abandoned. Instead, another aircraft was developed for this purpose with the Ki -17. 1935 began shipping the first Ki -9- series machines. By 1945, a total of 2615 aircraft of this type were built.
