Tadjourah Region

Tadjoura (also Tadjourah or Tajura written Arabic تاجورة Tadjoura, Taǧūra DMG ) is a region in northern Djibouti. Capital of the region is the city of Tadjoura. Other major towns are Randa, Dorra and Balho. Tadjoura has about 38,000 inhabitants.

The region is bordered on the north and north- west to Ethiopia and Eritrea in the north east of the region Obock, to the south Dikhil and Arta in the southeast on the Gulf of Tadjoura. The Lake Assal is located in the south of the region. In the border triangle between Djibouti, Eritrea and Ethiopia is the Mousa Ali, with 2028 m the highest peak of Djibouti. The Forêt du Day is the only forest in the whole of Djibouti.
