Tahar Tamsamani

Tahar TAMSAMANI (born 10 September 1980 in Marrakech ) is a retired Moroccan boxer. TAMSAMANI was bronze medalist of the 2000 Olympic Games and the African champions in 2003. Besides, he was a participant of the Olympic Games in 2004 and 2008.

Career

2000 won Tamsami Featherweight ( -57 kg ), the African Olympic qualifying tournament in Cairo. In the subsequent Olympics he reached after beating Park Heung Min, South Korea ( 21:14 ), and Israel Héctor Perez, Argentina ( 21:18 ), the semi-finals. This he lost to eventual Olympic champion Beksat Sattarchanow, Kazakhstan ( 22:10 ).

Among the African Championships 2003 TAMSAMANI won the gold medal in the lightweight (-60 kg). The following year he was able to qualify again for the Olympic Games, in which he this time, however, already in the first fight against Sam Lukuando, Uganda ( 30:22 ), lost.

Then there was a long silence to TAMSAMANI before he took second place at the Pan Arab Games 2007. The following year, he succeeded the third time the qualification for the Olympic Games, where he retired then, however, already in the first fight against Domenico Valentino, Italy ( 15:4 ).
