Taiwanese opera

The Taiwan opera (Chinese歌仔戏, Pinyin gēzǎixì ) is the only form of music - drama, which has its origin in Taiwan and has emerged in the region of Yilan. Its earliest form adopted elements of folk songs from Zhangzhou. The elements of the stories are based traditionally on folk tales of the Minnan region. The Taiwanese opera was later spread to regions in the Min Nan spoken.
