Taken by Trees
Taken by Trees is the name of the solo project of Swedish singer Victoria Bergsman ( born May 4, 1977).
Biography
Victoria Bergsman was until 2006 a member of the Concretes. Shortly thereafter, she was represented as a guest vocalist on the song Young Folks by Peter Bjorn and John, who became an international hit. With Bjorn (actually Björn Yttling ) together they recorded four more songs and put them under the name Taken by Trees on the Internet.
2007 the debut album Open Field, which was also placed in the Swedish charts. Then photographs were taken with singers in Pakistan for the second album East of Eden and used for the new CD. The album was also released in the U.S., reaching number 39 there in the Heatseaker charts.
The folk version of Guns'n' -Roses hit Sweet Child o ' Mine by Taken by Trees was used in late 2009 in the advertising of the British department store chain John Lewis. It was released as a single and then reached # 23 in the UK charts.
