Takenoshin Nakai

Nakai Takenoshin (Japanese中 井 猛 之 进, born November 9, 1882 in Gifu, † December 6, 1952 in Tokyo ) was a Japanese botanist who published numerous works on the flora of Korea. Its official botanical author abbreviation is " Nakai ".

From 1927 he taught at his alma mater of the Imperial University of Tokyo.

Shortly after the Japanese occupation of Java Nakai 1942 was director of the botanical garden Kebun Raya Bogor. After the war he became in 1947 director of the Museum of Natural Sciences Tokyo ( now the National Museum of Natural Sciences ).
