Takis Hadjigeorgiou

Takis Hadjigeorgiou (Greek Τάκης Χατζηγεωργίου; born December 11, 1956 in Pano Akourdaleia, Pafos ) is a Cypriot journalist and politician of Anorthotiko comma Ergazomenou Laou.

Life

Hadjigeorgiou studied law and journalism at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. After his studies in Athens, he returned to Cyprus and worked as a freelance journalist. In the TV station Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation, he became known in Cyprus through his talk show without boundaries. From 1995 to 2007 he worked for the Cypriot radio station Radio Astra 92.8. From 1996 to 2009 he worked as a deputy in the House of Representatives of Cyprus. Since 2009 Hadjigeorgiou deputy in the European Parliament and Vice-Chairman for the Group of the European United Left / Nordic Green Left. He is a member of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, the Delegation to the EU -Turkey Joint Parliamentary Committee, the Delegation to the Parliamentary Cooperation Committees EU-Armenia, EU-Azerbaijan and EU-Georgia and the Delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly Euro- NEST.
