Takuan Sōhō

Takuan Soho (Japanese沢 庵 宗 彭; * 1573, † 1645) was a Zen master in Japan in the 17th century. His writings include six volumes, which exercised great influence on the further development of Zen and Japanese martial arts.

Takuan was a consultant among other things the Tennō and according to legend and spiritual teacher of Miyamoto Musashi, the famous swordsman of Japan. For Yagyu Munenori, another sword master of the early 17th century, he has written two lesson units.
