Tal R
Tal Rosenzweig (born 1967 in Tel Aviv, Israel), known by his pseudonym Tal R, is a Danish artist.
Life
Tal Rosenzweig was born during the Six-Day War in Israel, the son of a Danish mother and a Czech father. The family moved half a year later to Denmark. Tal R studied 1986-1988 at the Copenhagen Billedskolen including among Erik Steffensen. Between 1991 and 1993 he worked as a teacher at the Nut Cracker - Art School in Copenhagen. Then he started in 1994 to study at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, which he finished in 2000. In the same year he was a visiting professor at the Helsinki Academy of Fine Arts. 2001 Tal R was studio scholarship from the city of Mönchengladbach. In 2003 he was a visiting professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Hamburg. Since 2005, Tal R has taught at the Art Academy in Dusseldorf a master class for painting. His works have been shown in various group exhibitions as well as in solo exhibitions in Denmark, the USA, Germany, Israel and the UK. Tal R 2009 arranged his works in its curatorial concept in the Kunsthalle zu Kiel and the Kunsthalle Tübingen.
Tal R has worked among others with Jonathan Meese and Daniel Richter. Besides Kaspar Hardly Bonnén, Kirstine Roepstorff and John Kørner Tal R is a member of the artist collective korners office.
Works
In his works, such as paintings, collages and installations Tal R often used elements of music, comic aesthetics, TV and old video game graphics. Tal R describes his works as Kolbojnik itself, by its own account a used in the kibbutzim for the common trash Yiddish word ( the literal meaning would be something like " alls ", "Smart Meier ").
