Talaud Islands
Talaud ( isolated Talaut or Salibabo ) is the name of an archipelago of smaller Indonesian islands lying northeast of the Sangihe Islands. The area occupied by the islands land mass is about 1285 km ².
The largest island of the group is Karakelang ( Karakelong ) 1,025 km ². To the south Salibabo ( Salebabu ) and Kabruang is ( Kaburuang ). The islands are fertile and well supplied with agriculture. Also fishing is productive.
The islands are administered by Manado, as part of the province of North Sulawesi ( Sulawesi Utara ), from. They constitute a separate administrative district ( kabupaten ) Kepulauan Talaud.
