Tally (company)

Tally was an American manufacturer of printers. The company was founded in 1949 in Kent, Washington, United States and placed first tape reader ago. 1970 Tally shifted in the printer industry and produced matrix printer. 1972 Mannesmann Precision GmbH was founded as a subsidiary of Mannesmann AG, specializes in dot matrix printers. 1979 merged Tally and Mannesmann Precision Technology to Mannesmann Tally and was part of the group Mannesmann Kienzle computer.

Mannesmann Tally printer now offered solutions and services in all major technologies in all key markets. The printer who provided the APL characters were produced in cooperation with IP Sharp Associates to support their international sharing network. The flexible, although competing, method of ignition pin, allowed that to print the full set of APL characters as well as a higher rate of universal ( global ) glyph. In 1996, improved Tally parts of its management, they bought with the assistance out by Legal & General Ventures of Mannesmann. The company's headquarters was located in Elchingen, subsidiaries and partnerships existed in more than 130 countries. Dot matrix printers and inkjet printers were produced in Elchingen, line printers and color printers in Kent.

2003 merged with Tally Tally Genicom GENICOM to. 2009 Tally Genicom brand was acquired by Printronix. The intellectual property and worldwide distribution rights for the Tally Genicom matrix, inkjet and thermal printers have been retained by the Tally Genicom AG and acquired by DASCOM in June 2009. DASCOM Europe now markets the products of the former brand Tally Genicom under the brand name Tally.
