Talmi-Teshub

Talmi - Teššup (also Talmi - Teschschup, Talmi - Teshup ) reigned from the late 13th century BC to the beginning of the twelfth century BC as the king of Carchemish. Under him Carchemish survived the first turbulent years after the fall of the Hittite kingdom.

A seal from Ugarit shows him as the son and successor of Ini Teššup. As king of Carchemish, he was the deputy of the Hittite King in Syria and could make their own decisions. So he settled the divorce of the Hittite princess Ehli - Nikkal from Ugaritic king ' Ammurapi III.

Fragments of a found in Hattusa contract between Talmi - Teššup and Suppiuliuma II ( CTH 122) suggest that the king was almost equivalent to the Great King of Hatti of Carchemish in the final stages of the Hittite Empire.

Was succeeded by his son Kuzi - Teššup, who described himself as a great king. This is a found in Lidar Höyük seals and inscriptions of the kings of Melid, today Malatya.
