Talysh Mountains

F The Talysh Mountains (Persian کوههای تالش, Kuha: e Ta: lesh, Azerbaijani: Talis Dağları ) is a mountain range in northwestern Iran and Azerbaijan in the south east of about 100 kilometers in length. It is located in the northwestern part of the Alborz Mountains and extends from the Lenkoraner lowlands in southeast Azerbaijan to the lower part of the river Sefid Rud in north-western Iran.

The highest peak is the Kyomurkyoj with 2477 meters. On the eastern slopes of the Talysh Mountains is controlled to about 600 meters from semihumidem, subtropical climate with rainfall between 1,600 mm to 1,800 mm. For the mountain range is the wettest region of Azerbaijan and one of the wettest regions of Iran. Until about 600 meters of the mountain range with Hyrcania mixed forest is covered, then the vegetation is montane level.
