Tamar Yellin

Tamar Yellin ( born 1963 in Leeds ) is a British author. She was born in northern England and studied Arabic and Hebrew at Oxford. She now lives in Yorkshire. Her father's family is from Jerusalem, her mother is the daughter of a Polish immigrant. In German in 2008 her first ( and so far only ) novel is The legacy of Shalom Sheper published. For this work she was awarded the Sami pipe price and the Ribalow Prize for Jewish Literature. The novel was translated into Spanish and Polish, among others. They also published short stories gathered in various magazines as well as in the short story collection Kafka in Bronteland and other stories, short stories from the years 1989 to 2003.
