Tamarix parviflora

The Small-flowered tamarisk ( Tamarix parviflora ) is a species of the genus of tamarisk ( Tamarix ).

Features

The Small-flowered tamarisk has reached a shrub or tree, plant height 2-6 meters. The bark is brown to purple. The flowers are cruciform. Stand in 1.5 to 3 inches long spikes. The sepals are denticulate. The petals are not keeled. The stamens are fused with the lobes of the nectar leaves. The bracts are triangular - pointed, boat-shaped and almost completely membranous.

Bloom time is from April to June.

Occurrence

The Small-flowered tamarisk occurs in the eastern Mediterranean. The species grows on riverbanks and in marshes at altitudes vo 0 to 300 meters.
