Tamás Bódog

Tamás Bódog [ tɒma ː ʃ ː bo doɡ ] ( born September 27, 1970 in Dunaújváros ) is a former Hungarian football player and current coach. Since 2012 he is assistant coach at RB Leipzig under contract.

Playing career

Bódog began his career as a defender at the Hungarian club Pécsi Mecsek FC. In 1994 he moved to the German third division SSV Ulm 1846, with whom he set up and in 2000 to the 2nd Bundesliga relegation in 1998 and 1999 in the Bundesliga again in the second league.

After the descent, the five-time Hungarian national team was retired and came first under the Oberliga SpVgg Au / Iller, before the second division 1 FSV Mainz 05 was committed in September 2000. In Mainz disappointed the Bódog initially used as a right-back, until he prevailed in the second half of the 2000/01 season in central defense.

For the second half of 2011/12 he played again together with his former Mainz player Christof Babatz in the county league Limburg -Weilburg for SG Kirberg / ears.

Coaching career

After a first station as an assistant coach of the second team of 1 FSV Mainz 05 2007-2009 Bódog joined as an assistant coach to the Hungarian first division club Videoton FC. With this, he reached the second place in the 2009/2010 season and won in the 2010/11 season the Hungarian Championship. After the season he left the club and trained as a Fußballehrer. For the 2012/13 season he was obliged by his former coach Ralf Rangnick, the sporting director of RB Leipzig as an assistant coach.
