TamaTech

TamaTech or Tama Tech (Japanese多摩 テックtamatekku ) is the international translation for an amusement park in the city belonging to the prefecture of Tokyo Hino.

History

It was built from 1961 primarily by Soichiro Honda near the Tama River to offer Japanese society something the American Disney Land like it. The park was from the beginning all about the engine and the motor sport; a variety of different vehicles stood for young and old are available. Especially famous is the so-called "Monkey -ride " on a Honda Z100 scooter from which emerged the later very successfully marketed two-wheeler " Honda Monkey" and its successor models Honda CZ100, Z50M, Z50A, Z50J and Z50Z.

On 30 September 2009, the theme park, plus the pool and spa facilities were closed.
