Tamayo Marukawa

Tamayo Marukawa (Japanese丸 川 珠 代, Marukawa Tamayo, actually大 冢 珠 代, Ōtsuka Tamayo, born January 19, 1971 in Kobe, Hyōgo Prefecture) is a Japanese politician of the Liberal Democratic Party ( LDP Machimura faction ) and former presenter of TV Asahi. Since 2007, it represents the Tokyo prefecture in Japan upper house.

Marukawa was after graduating from the Faculty of Economics, University of Tokyo Associate of TV Asahi, for which she served a year in the New York office. In 2007 she left the company to switch in the forthcoming upper house election 2007 politics.

They ran in the prefecture of Tokyo, the first five deputies elected to the Upper House, as one of two LDP candidates next incumbent Sanzo Hosaka. Marukawa achieved with 11.7% the fourth highest share of the vote, while Hosaka with 11.0% achieved only sixth place, falling short of a re-election. In the 2013 election, she received the highest share of votes over 1 million votes and 18.9 %.

From 2012 to 2013 she was the second cabinet of Shinzō Abe Parliamentary Secretary ( daijin seimukan ) in the Social and Labour Ministry.

Family

Her husband is the LDP lower house deputies Taku Ōtsuka ( Machimura faction, constituency Saitama 9, formerly of proportional representation block Tokyo), whom she married in 2008.
