Tamilnet

Tamilnet is a site with news and articles about the current situation in Sri Lanka, formerly with particular reference to the civil war in Sri Lanka. The website was built by members of the Sri Lankan - Tamil diaspora in the United States and publishes articles in English, French and German.

His reports are generally regarded as views of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam ( LTTE), which are listed in 32 countries as a terrorist organization.

Although it is not officially connected with the rebel organization, it is considered as a propaganda instrument of the LTTE.

Article 19 According to a London-based human rights organization, it is a popular news site, which is considered by journalists as in society in general or in diplomatic circles both in Sri Lanka itself and the world as a credible news source for the views and perspectives of the leadership of the LTTE civil war on. Tamilnet and non-governmental organizations such as the Free Media Movement ( FMM ), Committee to Protect Journalists ( CPJ ) and Article 19 report that the site is currently banned in Sri Lanka.
