Tamim ibn Muizz

Tamim ibn al -Mu ʿ izz al- Ziri ( تميم بن المعز الزيري / Tamim b. ʿ al -Mu izz al- Ziri, † 1108 ) was the fifth ruler of the Zirids in Ifriqiya and ruled from 1062 to 1108.

Tamim took over on the death of his father al -Mu ʿ izz ibn Badis az- Ziri 1062, the rule in Ifriqiya. At that time the Ziridenreich was after the invasion of the Banu Hilal in resolution. Only the coastal cities were still being controlled, a reconquest of the hinterland of the Bedouins did not succeed. Also in the coastal cities, the Zirids were not unchallenged. Thus, the rule went over to the Banu Hurasan Tunis (1063-1128) lost. The capital of al - Mahdiya was attacked in 1087 by Genoa and Pisa and had to be freed by a ransom. Thus, the increasing dominance of the Christian powers in the Mediterranean, it became clear that also in the Muslim conquest of Sicily by the Normans (1061-1092) manifested.

When he died in 1108 followed him Yahya ibn az- Ziri († 1116).
