Taming of fire ( Russian: Укрощение огня ) is a Soviet film from 1972 directed by Daniil Yakovlevich Chrabrowizki. . Model for the character played by Kirill Lavrov Jurjewitsch main role was Sergei Pavlovich Korolev.

Action

The film depicts in two episodes of the development of the Soviet space and follows the engineer Bashkirtsev. This first developed rockets for military use and is later involved in the space program. Goskino drove the film in the Soviet Union, Premiere was on 12 April 1972. On October 11, 1972, the film at the Soviet film festival in Japan was shown and a German version was on 12 April 1973 in the GDR cinemas. This was followed by publications in the U.S., Italy and Hungary.
