Tamluk ( Bengali: তমলুক, Tamaluk ), with about 46,000 inhabitants administrative headquarters of the District Purba Medinipur, West Bengal in India. It lies at an average elevation of 7 meters above sea level at the river Rupnarayan.

At the point of the place, the city Tamralipta in antiquity to have been lying. Archaeological artifacts from copper and other materials with Greek inscriptions are preserved in the Museum Tamralipta in Tamluk.

The area around Tamluk is mainly used for agricultural purposes. Main crops are Pan, cashew, rice, banana, coconut, cotton and vegetables.
