Tanakh at Qumran
The list of Bible manuscripts from the Dead Sea includes manuscripts with biblical texts among the scrolls from the Dead Sea ( a maximum of 207), including texts, in which citation retelling and interpretation of the Old Testament into one another (so-called rewritten Bible ).
The scrolls from Qumran are named according to the locality ( Caves Ranked # 1-11), with a large Q and a continuous number for each find. Another system renames the fonts according to their content ( abbreviated book title ), multiple copies of them with superscript letters. The same system is also used for the scrolls of the remaining localities.
The lyrics were written on almost all dünngegerbtem goat or sheep leather ( parchment ); only in a few selected cases here on papyrus.
