Tangentielle Nord
Tangentielle North is called Tram Express North since early 2014.
It is a rail project - which is classified as tram-train by STIF - in the region of Ile- de -France, which corresponds to the Paris area. It is a cross-connection of the suburbs northeast of Paris: The line will run from Sartrouville RER station in the Yvelines to Noisy- le -Sec station in the department of Seine- Saint- Denis. Commissioning is scheduled for 2017 on the section between the stations Epinay- sur -Seine and Bourget, on the whole range of operation is to be taken with 2020. The project planning is performed by the STIF, for the construction of SNCF and RFF are responsible. The operation will take over the SNCF.
Route
The line will have a length of 28 km and 14 stops, 8 of which are already available and will serve Umsteigerelationen to RER, Transilien and tram.
In this project, a novel approach is taken: Since the path is provided exclusively for passenger transport, it is not expanded full path accordingly, but more like a German rail: The route is smaller sized (8.5 m width instead of the usual 10 m ) and there are slight tram-train vehicles used, whereby not only the noise level is kept within limits as also decrease the requirements for track construction. The double-track route for the Tangential North, will be built next to the existing and primarily used for freight Ligne de la grande ceinture de Paris, which forms a large ring around Paris.
( Like laying of supply lines ) with the first preparatory construction work began in 2009. Since December 2010, the route is working on the infrastructure.
Operation
The operation will not be performed with classical gauge railway vehicles, but with tram-train vehicles of the type Citadis Dualis. The vehicles are 42 m long, 2.65 wide and hold 250 passengers. The top speed is 100 km / h
During rush time interval of 5 minutes is provided outside a 10 minutes. The total journey time from Sartrouville to Noisy- le -Sec should be 35 minutes. The expected passenger frequency is 150 000 people per day.
