Tansen (Nepal)
Tansen is a town in central Nepal and the administrative center of the district of Palpa in the Mahabharat mountains, 57 line kilometers south-east of Pokhara.
In the 16th century Tansen capital of the Magar kingdom Tanahun. In the 18th century Tansen was a Newari trading post on the road from Pokhara to Butwal, a major trade route between India and Mustang.
The well preserved old town with temples in pagoda style is a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2008.
