Tapeti ( Sylvilagus brasiliensis)

The Tapeti or Brazil Cottontail ( Sylvilagus brasiliensis) is a species of cottontail rabbits ( Sylvilagus ), which is native to Central and South America from Mexico to the east in the northern Argentina.

It is a solitary and nocturnal animal, which can be seen in the normal case, especially in the evening or at dawn. It is primarily an inhabitant of tropical forests, mostly in the area of wetlands or along rivers but also in Proximity in gardens and parks, and feeds mainly on grasses and leaves.

In contrast to other species, it brings only once a year junior to the world, the gestation period is longer with six weeks and the litter size is smaller than the other with only two cottontail rabbits.
