Taranes

Taranes is one of nine parroquias in the community Ponga the autonomous community of Asturias in Spain. The 79 inhabitants (2011 ) live in three villages in the Natural Park Ponga. The name comes from the first Taranes Celtic colonization, with Taranis is the god of the sky. Surrounded by the mighty mountains Tiatordos and Peña Taranes is Taranes an impressive entrance to the Natural Park Ponga.
