The University of Kiev, officially National Taras Shevchenko University of Kiev, is a university in the Ukrainian capital Kiev. Founded in 1834 when Vladimir University, it is named after the Ukrainian national poet Taras Shevchenko since 1939. Currently, it has about 20,000 students.
