The University of Kiev, officially National Taras Shevchenko University of Kiev, is a university in the Ukrainian capital Kiev. Founded in 1834 when Vladimir University, it is named after the Ukrainian national poet Taras Shevchenko since 1939. Currently, it has about 20,000 students. The facilities of the university are spread in the city and on campus in the south of the city. To the campus around the student town so-called localized with numerous residences.
