Tarbert (Harris)

Tarbert ( isthmus ) is the main community on Harris in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland. There is also a car ferry terminal to Uig on Skye.

1990 RAF aircraft accident

On April 30, 1990, a Royal Air Force Avro Shackleton ( WR965 ) flew from RAF Lossiemouth and Benbecula Airport and crashed near the village, all passengers and all members of the crew died.
