Tärendöälven, Norrbotten

The Tärendöälven (or Tärendö älv ) is a tributary of the Kalixälven in Norrbotten County in Sweden. It represents the after Brazo Casiquiare second largest in Venezuela Flussbifurkation the world outside of Delta estuaries dar.

The Tärendöälv branches in the municipality of Pajala from the Torne River. This origin is located near the town Junosuando at an altitude of 210 m. He takes on more than 50 % of the water of the Torne River.

It flows 52 km to the southeast and runs through Lautakoski and Koijuniemi and then dehydrated in 160 m altitude in Tärendö in the Kalixälven.

Rights tributaries of Tärendöälven are Merasjoki, Leppäjoki, Saittajoki and Jukkasjoki. The Karijoki is a left tributary.

The river is popular with anglers, like many waters in the Nordkalotte.
