Taron Margaryan

Taron Margaryan Margarian or (Armenian Տարոն Մարգարյանը, born April 17, 1978 in Yerevan, Armenian SSR) is an Armenian politician and current mayor of the capital, Yerevan.

He is the son of Andranik Margaryan, who was from 2000 to 2007 Armenian Prime Minister, and was elected as a member of the Republican Party of Armenia to the mayor of Yerevan Municipality Awan 2005. Margaryan was elected to the council of elders of the Armenian capital on May 31, 2009 and was on 7 July 2009 First Deputy Mayor of the city of millions.

Following the resignation of Mayor Karen Karapetyan replaced him as Acting Mayor Margaryan. His election by the Council of Elders was held on November 15, 2011.

He is married, has a daughter and three sons.
