Taronga Zoo

Taronga Zoo is the city zoo of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. It was officially established on 7 November 1916, and is located near Port Jackson in the suburb of Mosman. The zoo is run by the Taronga Conservation Society along with the Taronga Western Plains Zoo. The area is divided into eight zoogeographic regions and is home to over 2,600 animals. The Taronga Zoo came on July 4, 2009, the first elephant in Australia to the world.
