Tartaglia (commedia dell'arte)

Tartaglia (Italian for " stutterer " ) is a figure of the Italian improvised theater, commedia dell'arte. Developed in Naples between 1610 mask represented originally a Spanish official, not very young, mostly dressed green, with oversized glasses, his belly and his importance in front of him held out. The dignity is compromised by his lack of knowledge of ( Italian ) language and his stutter, which always gives his remarks ambiguity.
