Tarvaspää

The Tarvaspää, also: Gallen-Kallela Museum, located in Espoo, Finland.

History

It was built between 1911 and 1913 by the Finnish painter Akseli Gallen - Kallela ( 1865-1931 ) in the style of national romanticism as a home and studio. Since 1961 it is publicly accessible and used as a museum.

The museum's collections include works from all areas of the artist's paintings, drawings, prints, sculptures, prints and decorative arts. This includes the (original) furnishing of the house, the literary estate and personal items. Gallen - Kallela CV is also shown, as that of his contemporaries, fellow artists and friends.

The archive of the museum contains a list of works, a collection of photographs, correspondence and newspaper clippings, the Gallen-Kallela - family library and reference library of Gallen-Kallela Foundation for Art and Art History at the change from the 19th to the 20th century.
