The Tashkent University of Information Technology ( short TUIT; Russian Ташкентский Университет Информационных Технологий; Uzbek Toshkent Axborot Texnologiyalari Universiteti ) is a major university in the Uzbek capital Tashkent. She has specialized in studies of information technology and engineering. In addition to the headquarters in Tashkent, the University also operates overall six smaller branches in the cities of Fergana, Urgench, Karshi, Samarkand and Nukus.

Overview

The university was in 1955, when Uzbekistan was part of the Soviet Union, as Taschkentskij Elektrotechnitscheskij Institute Swjasi founded. In 1993, a special department was set up at the officers and military officials are trained in technical areas.

Since a decree of the Uzbek President in 2002, the institute officially deemed to be university, from 2005 branches were established in other Uzbek cities. Today mainly courses in the field of computer science, information technology, electrical engineering and engineering are offered, it can, however, also be studied economics. Lectures are usually held in Russian and Uzbek. At the university there are in addition a center for Uzbek and Russian language and a foreign language center, can be assigned in the language courses for English, German or French.
