Taşucu is a town ten kilometers west of the mouth of the Göksu in the province of Mersin, southern Turkey.

The main industry of the town is mainly the Turkish domestic tourism during the summer months. Fishing is another source of income dar. From Taşucu there is a ferry service to Kyrenia ( Girne) in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus by two state-owned companies. In the education sector is primarily the Department of Tourism of the Selçuk Üniversitesi of importance to the approximately 1,000 students are enrolled for the place.

History

East of Taşucu are ruins of BC founded by Greeks in the 7th century Holmoi. Pirate raids led to its destruction in the 4th century BC. Residents were (now Silifke ) relocated to Seleucia on Calycadnus.

In November 2007, a public square in was renamed " Place of Taşucu " in Bergkamen.
