Taubach (Ilm)

The Taubach is the smallest of the three headwaters of the Ilm in the Thuringian Forest in Ilmenau. He is almost four kilometers long.

The Taubach rises on the eastern slope of the Great Finster mountain in about 800 meters from the Ilmbrunnen. It flows in an easterly direction, past Wolfsgrube and Leutelstal where its valley opens to a meadow landscape. In the lower Taubachtal lies the forest pool Stuetzerbach below which the Taubach with free stream and Lengwitz unites the Ilm.
