Te slăvim, Românie

Te slăvim, Romanie ( German like we boast, Romania) was from 1953 to 1977, the national anthem of the People's Republic and the Socialist Republic of Romania. The verses were written by Eugene Frunză and Dan Deşliu. The music is by Matei Socor.

History

The anthem replaced the provisional national anthem Zdrobite previously used cătuşe. From the end of the 1960s was the second verse of Te slăvim, Romanie that emphasizes the friendship with the Soviet Union and Leninism, not sung. Three years after Nicolae Ceauşescu had taken over the office of president, Trei culori became the national anthem.
