Ted Benoit

Ted Benoît, Benoît actually Thierry, ( born July 25, 1947 in Niort, France ) is a French comic book artist.

After studying at the Institute des Hautes Etudes of cinématographiques he began in the early 1970s with the drawing of comics and was the first short stories published in magazines. This was followed by releases in the comic magazines L'Echo des Savanes and Métal Hurlant. The first album was released in 1979 and received Hôpital on the Comic Salon in Angoulême the prize for the best scenario. His next album, Vers la Ligne Claire was very successful. With this work, he began to take up the style Ligne claire and develop in a more modern form. In his 1982 published comic Ray Banana and the following works he builds on it. He is considered one of the most stylish visual artists of nouvelle ligne claire.

With Jean van Hamme Ted Benoît took over in 1996 the classic series Blake and Mortimer by Edgar Pierre Jacobs, which he had set in 1971. The new episodes of this series have great success in France and Belgium.
