Tefta Tashko-Koço

Tefta Tashko - Koço ( born November 2, 1910 in al - Fayyūm, † December 22, 1947 in Tirana) was an Albanian singer.

Life

Tefta Tashko was born in al - Fayyūm, Egypt, where her family had emigrated to the end of the 19th century. In 1921 the family returned to Korca back, and 1927 Tefta went to France to study singing at the Conservatory of Montpellier. From 1932 to 1936 she studied singing at the Conservatoire de Paris. In 1936 she returned to Albania, where they both worked in the opera and chamber music, as also sang Albanian urban songs.

Tefta Tashko took 1937-1942 in Italy 45 of their urban Albanian songs. In Radio Tirana she was a singer since its inception.

Her songs were written by the composer Kristo Kono.

Private

Tefta Tashko married Kristaq Koço, with whom she had a son, Eno Koço. She died unexpectedly in 1947 at the age of 37 years.
