Teixeira Duarte

Teixeira Duarte S. A. is one of the largest construction companies in Portugal. From its base in Porto Salvo Oeiras, near Lisbon in a circle, the company operates mainly in countries of Portuguese language, such as Portugal, Brazil, Angola, Mozambique, Macao, but also in countries such as Venezuela and Algeria. The company is listed on the Euro Next Lisbon. Teixeira Duarte is ranked 78 of the largest European construction companies.

The Teixeira Duarte, S. A. was founded in 1921 by the engineer Ricardo Teixeira Duarte Esquivel. The Teixeira Duarte Group employs around 13,500 people in sixteen Ländernund is active in eight different areas: construction, cement and concrete business, building materials, concessions and services, real estate, hospitality, food trade, fuel and motor trade. As the second largest shareholder Teixeira Duarte SA is involved with seven per cent at Banco Comercial Português ( BCP).

Teixeira Duarte has agreed a contract with the Angolan government for the new building of the National Assembly in March 2010. The construction volume amounts to 185 million U.S. dollars.
