Telecom Namibia

Telecom Namibia is the national telecommunications company of Namibia, based in the Namibian capital Windhoek.

Telecom Namibia is a subsidiary of Namibia Post and Telecommunications Holdings, which owns 100 % is subject to the Namibian Ministry of Information and Communication Technology in Communication Minister Joel Kaapanda. Managing Director Frans Ndoroma.

Landline

Telecom Namibia has a monopoly in the fixed network. As of March 2010 there are 148 741 connections nationwide.

Mobile

With SWITCH Telecom Namibia also offered wireless solutions based on CDMA and was officially established as the third mobile communications provider in the country since the end of 2009. Switch counted 54,000 customers (as of mid 2010). In August 2011, Telecom announced the restructuring of the CDMA network in a GSM network.

In November 2012 Telecom Namibia became the second largest mobile operator. The realignment will take place under the name Mobile TN.
