Temiskaming Shores

New Liskeard is a village in northern Ontario on Timiskamingsee and the Wabi Creek, which forms a district of Temiskaming Shores since 2004. New Liskeard has 4800 inhabitants and was named after the town of Liskeard in Great Britain.

History

1891 New Liskeard was founded by Europeans. 1903 John Armstrong became the first mayor of the village. On October 4, 1922 in New Liskeard broke out a big fire.

The Canadian actor Roy Dupuis ( born 1963 ) was born in New Liskeard.
