Temperature measurement
Thermometry (Greek thermos = hot, warm and metron = measure ) is the science of temperature measurement. Used the term thermometry and thermometric primarily in metrology, less in physics.
With the thermometry, a number of researchers have addressed:
- Galileo Galilei (1564-1642)
- Jean Rey (1583-1645)
- Robert Hooke (1635-1703)
- Gabriel Daniel Fahrenheit (1686-1736)
- René Antoine de Reaumur Ferchault (1683-1757)
- Anders Celsius (1701-1744)
- Carl Linnaeus (1707-1778)
- Lord Kelvin (1824-1907)
