History

The project was developed by Pressburger architect Ignaz Feigler the Younger, the foundation stone was laid on 13 May 1859. Was consecrated in the original chapel on September 14, 1860 on the feast of the Exaltation of the Cross, by the Archbishop of Gran Ján Scitovsky and was intended from the beginning as a cemetery chapel. The single- sacral displays characteristics of the Gothic Revival and Renaissance Revival.

After the funerals at Andrew's Friedof in the 1950s, the band lost its function and was then only a warehouse. In 1972, the sacred building of the Roman Catholic Church was first leased and then given to the Greek Catholic Church. At the same time, a reconstruction took place in order to hold services in the Byzantine rite can and the rebuilt church was consecrated by Bishop Hopko Vasiľ on 29 October 1972. In 1996 she was rebuilt once again, the construction work related in particular to the sacristy and it was an iconostasis installed. There are icons of Pavol Peter Gojdič and Vasiľ Hopko, among these are reliquaries containing the relics of the blessed ones on the walls of the left and right of the iconostasis.

Since 30 January 2008, the church is the Eparchy of Bratislava Cathedral. Services are partly held in the Old Church Slavonic Slovak.
