Eparchy of Bratislava

The Eparchy of Bratislava (Latin: Eparchia Bratislaviensis, Slovak:. Bratislavská gréckokatolícka Eparchia ) is a Uniate with the Roman Catholic Church Greek Catholic Eparchy.

History

The Eparchy of Bratislava on 30 January 2008 by Pope Benedict XVI. built with the Apostolic Constitution Complures saeculorum and archeparchy Prešov assumed as suffragan. The pastoral governance of the eparchy of Bratislava transferred Benedict XVI. Bishop Peter Rusnák.

The ecclesiastical jurisdiction of the Eparchy extends across the central and western territory of Slovakia: the political districts Bratislavský kraj, Trnavský kraj, Trenčín Region, Nitriansky kraj, Žilinský and Banskobystrický kraj.

Greek - Catholic parishes of the Eparchy there in Bratislava, Trenčín, Nitra, Banská Bystrica, Brezno, Zvolen, Telgárt, Šumiac, Žilina and Martin (Slovakia). In addition, the pastoral care of the approximately 25,000 Greek Catholics in the cities of Trnava, Piešťany, Komárno, Prievidza, Ružomberok and Liptovsky Mikulas is guaranteed.

Built in the capital Bratislava Greek Catholic Church of the Holy Exaltation of the Cross is also the cathedral of the Eparchy of Bratislava.
